In many healthcare settings, the handling of biomedical waste (i.e. waste produced from the administering of drugs and medications) is an ongoing concern due to potential contamination by infectious agents. Workers may be exposed to hazards at all stages in the preparation, administration and waste management of hazardous drugs.
