Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Update
WHMIS 2015 is here – As of November 30, 2018 the formal transition period to WHIMS 2015 is completed. That means that organizations must comply with the WHMIS 2015 classification system when hazardous materials are present in the workplace. For complete details, the WHMIS Regulation 860 should be referenced.
During the transition period, PSHSA provided a WHMIS eLearning program that provided information on both the WHMIS 1988 and the WHMIS 2015 classifications systems. As the transition period came to a close, PSHSA has updated our eLearning training program to remove the WHMIS 1988 content. We have also added learner interaction and a gamification element to the WHMIS 2015 eLearning program.
WHMIS Training
WHMIS is a Canada-wide hazard communication standard for protecting the health and safety of workers who handle hazardous chemicals. WHMIS training is a legal requirement for employees who may be exposed to hazardous materials. To ensure worker protection, employers must educate and train workers about WHMIS 2015 and provide site-specific training on the hazardous materials that are present in your workplace. Our eLearning module can help you meet this requirement by providing an effective and efficient way of providing information on WHMIS 2015.
We can provide the module on a per user basis or we can provide the course for your Learning Management System. Call us at 1-877-250-7444 for more information.
