Fatalities from falls in Ontario Workplaces

September 20, 2013 – Since June 2013, nine Ontario workers have died while on the job as a result of falls.

Falls are one of the most common workplace hazards in the province, and tragedies resulting from this hazard must be stopped. The ability to see a hazard, recognize it for what it is, and react before reaching the point of no return is the best way to avoid slipping, tripping, or falling. It’s important to understand the regulations and other relevant standards, as well as hazard descriptions, identification, and assessment.

PSHSA offers a number of resources and training courses to assist Ontario workplaces in preventing slips, trips and falls.
