Novel Coronavirus Update

May 6, 2013 – The following update regarding Novel Coronavirus is from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health:

 

The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia has informed the World Health Organization (WHO) of seven new laboratory confirmed cases of infection with the novel coronavirus (nCoV), including five deaths. From September 2012 to date, WHO has been informed of a global total of 24 laboratory confirmed cases of human infection with nCoV, including 16 deaths. There are also media reports of a possible three additional cases, which, if confirmed, would bring the total to 27.

 

Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has updated the Information for Health Workers and Health Sector Employers section on its website to reflect the latest developments. You may continue to check this website regularly for updates.
