The Public Services Health and Safety Association is pleased to announce the details of its Annual General Meeting.

The meeting will be held in Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Novotel North York, 3 Park Home Ave. The purposes of the meeting are to elect the Directors of PSHSA; approve Financial Statements of PSHSA for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2011; and to appoint the Auditors of PSHSA for 2012 and authorize the board to fix the remuneration of the Auditor.

This year’s speaker will be George Gritziotis, the province’s first Chief Prevention Officer (CPO).  George was appointed CPO in August 2011 and began work at the Ministry of Labour on October 17th, 2011.  As the CPO, George has the authority to set standards to enhance health and safety training.  He is also responsible for working with Ontario’s Health and Safety Associations to establish effective delivery of prevention programs and services, and to monitor their compliance with standards set by the minister.
