Safety in Secondary Schools

In the fall of 2011, the Ministry of Labour began a Safe at Work Ontario initiative looking at health and safety in the secondary school environment. Phase 2 of this initiative is underway now. In this initiative, Ministry of Labour inspectors will look at health and safety in technical and science labs, the use of designated substances in the school environment, and the internal responsibility system as it relates to joint health and safety committees and supervisor due diligence.
