Time to Prepare for MOL Blitz on MSDs

From February 1-29, 2012, Ministry of Labour inspectors will be conducting a workplace inspection blitz focusing on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in the health care, industrial, construction, and mining sectors to enforce compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and its regulations.

 

These injuries continue to account for almost half of the lost time injuries for PSHSA client firms, and result from  manual material handling, client handling activities and office ergonomic hazards.

 

PSHSA will be running three webinars to help our clients understand legislative requirements regarding prevention of musculoskeletal  disorders, what MOL inspectors will look for during a visit, as well as program  development and prevention resources available.
