Bill 18 expands the definition of ‘worker’ to ensure OHSA coverage unpaid learners and co-op students. It also holds temporary help agencies and their clients accountable for certain employment standards violations, such as failure to pay overtime, regular wages and public holiday entitlements. It also expands employment protections to cover all foreign employees who enter the Ontario job market as a foreign temporary employee or immigration program.
