Worker Awareness training will enhance general awareness of legislated health and safety responsibilities and system roles, the Internal Responsibility System, supervisor duties and worker roles, responsibilities and rights in relation to workplace safety.
The intent is to assist Ontario workplaces with compliance to Regulation 297/13 Occupational Health and Safety Awareness Training. Upon completion of the course, participants will be compliant with Regulation 297/13 and also be educated on common workplace hazards including regulation 860 (WHMIS). This training is applicable for all sectors.
Appropriate for all sectors, this mandatory training is applicable to all Ontario workplaces and all workers are required to complete this basic awareness training. Compliance is required to take place prior to July 1 2014, after July 1 2014, workers are required to have this training completed within one week of performing work. This training will provide workers with the skills and knowledge that they need to know about their health and safety responsibilities and the appropriate legislative requirements that must be followed.
